The successful candidate's primary duties include a variety of clerical functions such as: processing inmate bonds with the public and bonding agencies, taking phone calls from the public, court paperwork including adding sentences and processing releases. Also, running warrant checks through LEIN on all inmates and performing record keeping of inmates entering and leaving the facility. Other duties include the processing of inmate release paperwork, data entry, communicating with other Law Enforcement Agencies in regard to extraditions and transfers and assuming responsibility for inmate property including balancing monies.
Schedule varies, working four, 10-hour days; must be available to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Schedule will include every other weekend, holidays, and other shifts as needed. Hours worked on Holidays are paid at 1 1/2 times pay with an additional 8 hours banked in a PTO (personal time off) bank for future use. Hours worked on 3rd shift and weekends will have a $1.00/hr premium paid as well. Shifts are awarded by seniority and are bid on every year.
High school graduate or equivalent. Computer literacy is essential. A commitment to providing superior customer service, excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to interact positively and objectively with clients from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is essential. Requires basic knowledge of accounting practices and standards and working knowledge of office protocols and procedures. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are essential. Knowledge of criminal justice or courts systems and bilingual ability are beneficial.
