We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to lead procurement activities essential to our operations and support logistics functions. This dual-role position will oversee sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies, and services to ensure timely, cost-effective operations and logistics. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is committed to upholding operational integrity, product compliance, and supply chain excellence.
Essential Duties: Procurement Functions
• Source and procure materials and supplies in alignment with production and
operational needs.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality,
reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts and terms to secure optimal pricing and delivery schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production and operations teams
to forecast material needs.
• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, FSSC 22000, and
ISO 9001 standards. (for example: vendor management, procurement process,
supplier scorecard, etc.)
• Audit vendors (e.g. incoming freight bills) for room of improvements
• Prepare and maintain procurement reports, including cost analysis, vendor
performance, and inventory tracking.
• Support the annual budgeting process by providing accurate procurement
forecasts and data.
• Support strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce cost, improve supply reliability,
and identify alternative suppliers.
• Participate in supplier qualification, including coordination of COA/COC
requirements and sample evaluations with R&D/Quality.
• Assist in supply risk assessment, including mitigation planning for sole-source
materials, lead times, and seasonal variations.
Essential Duties: Logistic Functions
• Monitor logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, carrier accuracy, costs, freight claims).
• Analyze freight and shipping data to identify opportunities for route optimization,
consolidation, or cost reduction.
• Ensure accurate and compliant shipping documentation for domestic and
international shipments (BOLs, SDS, commercial invoices, etc.).
• Coordinate incoming inspection and support nonconformance management
(NCRs, supplier corrective actions).
• Maintain procurement documentation, SOPs, and work instructions to support
ISO and FSSC compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Familiarity with manufacturing or packaging operations (required).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and quality documentation
systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities; strong vendor management
skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret purchasing, cost, and logistics data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP/procurement software.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving operational
environment.
• Professional, proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-through.
Training and Experience
• 2–5+ years of experience in procurement, quality systems, supply chain, or
regulatory compliance within manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO, FSSC, HACCP, or other quality certifications (preferred).
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Quality, Supply Chain, Business, Life
Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED
