Procurement and Shop Coordinator

W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Inc, has an opening for a material and order coordinator in our steel fabrication shop. Previous experience working in a steel fabrication shop or similar production shop environment is desired.

Specific Job Requirements:

• Place orders with structural steel and material suppliers per bill of material lists
• Receive and unload daily steel and material deliveries.
• Inventory and store daily deliveries and distribute to appropriate shop personnel
• Assemble and palletize fabricated items, material and hardware.
• Create and maintain receiving and shipping logs of all materials received and shipped to and from the shop
• Schedule and arrange delivery for completed fabricated items and material
• Load outgoing deliveries onto shipping trucks
• Assist with shop clean-up and general shop duties as needed
• Assist shop manager with other duties as needed

General Requirements:

• High School Diploma Required
• Able to create basic Microsoft Excel spread sheets and Microsoft Word Documents
• Able to pass a drug test
• A valid driver’s license with no prior offenses prohibiting operating company vehicles/equipment.
• Able to work from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with occasional after hours and weekends as needed.
• Clean and maintain an orderly work area
• Maintain consistent and effective production output levels.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, suppliers and customers
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to operate a forklift
