Procurement, Contract Management & Supply Chain Officer (FMCG)
Job Purpose
The Procurement, Contract Management & Supply Chain Officer is responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement and supply chain cycles for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) within the food and beverage sector. The role ensures a seamless flow of finished goods, maintaining an optimal balance between inventory levels and sales velocity, while securing competitive commercial terms with local and international suppliers to maximize profitability and eliminate stockouts.
Key Responsibilities
FMCG Procurement Planning: Develop and execute purchasing and replenishment plans aligned with sales forecasts, product turnover rates, seasonal peaks, and promotional campaigns.
Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiate with manufacturers, global brands, and local distributors to secure volume discounts and favorable payment terms. Draft annual trade agreements and audit vendor compliance.
Inventory Control & Shelf-Life Management: Monitor stock health and strictly enforce FIFO/FEFO policies. Coordinate closely with the Sales department to clear near-expiry items and minimize dead stock or write-offs.
Logistics & Cold Chain Integrity: Oversee rapid transit and delivery logistics to distribution centers, ensuring absolute cold and dry chain integrity to prevent perishable product spoilage or quality degradation.
Cost Analysis & Margin Optimization: Analyze landed costs and monitor market price trends to provide data-driven insights that support strategic product pricing and maximize commercial profit margins.
Food Safety & Compliance: Guarantee that all procured consumer goods, logistics, and warehousing practices strictly comply with national food safety authorities (e.g., SFDA) and compliance standards.
Required Skills
Advanced Negotiation: Proven ability to secure highly competitive pricing, rebates, and credit terms with major FMCG suppliers.
Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong financial mindset focused on cost optimization, margin protection, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
FMCG Inventory Expertise: Deep understanding of high-turnover inventory management, demand forecasting, and strict expiration date controls.
Leadership & Problem Solving: Strong leadership skills with the ability to resolve supply disruptions quickly under high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
Language Fluency: Full professional proficiency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, all of which must be entirely and exclusively within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Food & Beverage sector
