The Procurement Data Analyst is an integral part of the Procurement team, responsible for providing accurate, timely, and high-quality data, reporting, and analytical support for category management and sourcing activities.
Operating within a matrix structure and a centralised Procurement Analytics Centre of Excellence, this role is aligned with Procurement Category Managers on day-to-day analytical delivery. Additionally, it supports standardised reporting, shared tools, and harmonised practices across the Procurement function. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with no direct people management responsibilities.
Procurement Data & Spend Analytics
- Prepare, cleanse, and organise procurement data from sources including Coupa, finance systems, contracts, and spreadsheets
- Deliver accurate, repeatable spend analytics for procurement categories and business units
- Apply agreed data definitions, classifications, and methodologies consistently
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure reliable outputs
Opportunity Identification & Value Support
- Analyse spend and supplier data to identify cost reduction and value creation opportunities
- Provide analytical inputs to Category Managers for sourcing strategies, negotiations, and business cases
- Support tracking, validation, and reporting of procurement savings and value delivery
Reporting, Dashboards & Tooling
- Develop, maintain, and update procurement dashboards and reports using Power BI
- Deliver standard recurring procurement reports and respond to ad hoc analytical requests
- Enhance reporting efficiency through automation and standardisation
Category & Stakeholder Support
- Provide comprehensive analytical support across procurement categories
- Deliver embedded analytical support specific to assigned categories
- Build effective working relationships with Finance to ensure up-to-date financial data and reporting
- Translate analysis into understandable insights for procurement and business stakeholders
- Support category planning, pipeline reviews, and performance discussions
- Coordinate with Finance for consistent procurement and financial reporting
Continuous Improvement & CoE Contribution
- Follow established analytics processes, templates, and documentation standards
- Contribute to improving data quality, reporting accuracy, and turnaround times
- Support knowledge sharing, handovers, and workload continuity within the Centre of Excellence
Essential
- 3–7 years’ experience as a data analyst, procurement analyst, or in commercial analytics
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, or category management teams
- Strong hands-on expertise with unstructured, incomplete, or inconsistent data
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas
- Practical experience with Power BI for dashboards and reporting
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate data and insights to non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience working with Coupa data
- Exposure to SQL, Python, or similar data manipulation tools
- Understanding of procurement metrics, spend analysis, and sourcing concepts
