Procurement Engineer:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with organizational goals for landscaping and civil engineering projects.
- Vendor Evaluation and Selection: Identify and vet vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability. This includes drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that detail specifications for materials and services.
- Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Perform detailed cost analyses to identify optimal procurement options. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous contract terms and conditions.
- Manage the Procurement Lifecycle: Oversee the entire process, from initial requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Quality and Order Management: Work with the on-site quality control team to ensure materials meet project specifications. Oversee the entire ordering process from start to finish to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure long-term partnerships and potential cost savings.
- Technical Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between engineering and design teams and suppliers to clarify technical specifications or resolve issues.
- Contract Administration: Manage and administer all supplier contracts and agreements to meet project needs and strategic goals.
- Vendor Development: Conduct regular performance reviews of vendors based on cost, quality, and service, and maintain a pool of reliable vendors for current and future projects.
- Material Bank Management: Create and maintain a detailed database of commonly used landscaping materials, including specifications, sources, and costs. This database will be used to recommend materials for new projects.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant procurement experience in landscaping, civil, or renovation projects.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies and best practices.
- Familiarity with materials used in high-end landscaping and civil projects, such as specialized stones, pavers, lighting, and irrigation systems.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a strong ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: AED 5,000 to 7,000 per month (inclusive of fixed allowances).
