Role Purpose
To manage the procurement cycle for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in alignment with project requirements, timelines, and budgets. The Procurement Engineer ensures the timely and cost-effective sourcing of quality materials while maintaining compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
Key Accountabilities

Understand project specifications, material requirements, and construction schedules to develop procurement plans.

Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials and services.

Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on project needs.

Conduct market research to identify new vendors and ensure competitive pricing.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.

Review and analyze supplier quotations to select the most suitable offers based on cost, quality, and delivery time.

Collaborate with engineering, construction, and planning teams to align procurement activities with project schedules.

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.

Track and report on procurement activities, supplier performance, and delivery status.

Maintain an updated database of suppliers, pricing, and materials.

Provide regular updates to management on procurement progress and challenges.

Work closely with the quality control team to ensure materials meet required standards and certifications.

Resolve issues related to defective or delayed materials.

Ensure proper documentation of all procurement activities, including supplier contracts, agreements, and delivery records.

Coordinate with logistics teams to handle shipping, customs clearance, and delivery to project sites.

Ensure that all materials and equipment meet technical specifications and project requirements.

Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum
3–5 years of experience
in procurement within the construction industry.
Experience with large-scale projects is preferred.
Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and technical specifications.
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP).
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Familiarity with international procurement and shipping processes is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
