Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer with experience in Civil and Architectural materials for construction projects. The role involves managing the end-to-end procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials and subcontracted works, aligned with project specifications and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study project specifications, IFC drawings, and BOQs to identify civil and architectural procurement needs.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers/subcontractors for civil and finishing materials, including concrete, steel, blockwork, waterproofing, façade, cladding, doors, windows, joinery, partitions, ceilings, flooring, paint, and other architectural finishes.
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), and carry out commercial and technical evaluations of offers.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best terms in pricing, lead time, payment, and warranty conditions.
- Coordinate with design, planning, and site teams to track procurement schedules and ensure timely material deliveries.
- Ensure materials comply with project specifications and standards through submittals and approvals.
- Maintain procurement logs and update procurement tracking sheets regularly.
- Follow up on material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and material inspections.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company procurement policies.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing supply and subcontract agreements for civil and architectural works.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 4–8 years of procurement experience in civil and architectural works within the construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil/structural and finishing materials and systems.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures, contracts, and documentation standards (FIDIC knowledge is a plus).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and ERP/procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on high-end commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) or project management (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
- Understanding of local and international supply markets for architectural and civil materials.
