Procurement Engineer for SOMALIA

Location:

Mogadishu, Somalia secure zone

Key Responsibility

• • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, and services.
• Review BOQs, drawings, and specifications to prepare material requisitions and procurement plans.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze technical and commercial bids, and prepare comparison sheets.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, PMV, and site teams to ensure timely material delivery.
• Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
• Manage procurement documentation including POs, contracts, delivery notes, and approvals.
• Support logistics coordination for local and international shipments.
• Control material costs and support value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and ethical procurement standards.
• Prepare procurement status reports and updates for management.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in procurement within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of building and road construction materials and processes.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
• Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
