Job Summary

The Procurement Engineer – MEP is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract services, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, technical compliance, and alignment with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities Procurement Planning & Execution

  • Develop procurement schedules in line with project programs
  • Source and prequalify MEP suppliers and subcontractors
  • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs for MEP materials and services

Technical & Commercial Evaluation

  • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs for procurement scope
  • Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of vendor offers
  • Prepare comparison sheets and recommend suitable vendors

Vendor & Order Management

  • Negotiate prices, terms, warranties, and delivery schedules
  • Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements
  • Monitor vendor performance, approvals, and deliveries

Coordination & Delivery

  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to meet material requirements
  • Track procurement status and resolve supply chain issues
  • Ensure materials comply with approved submittals and standards

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Monitor procurement budgets and cost savings
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
  • Prepare procurement status and cost reports

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and procedures
  • Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and project requirements

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and materials
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills
  • Strong analytical and commercial awareness
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP / procurement systems
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and deadlines

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP procurement within construction projects
  • UAE / GCC experience preferred
