Job Summary
The Procurement Engineer – MEP is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract services, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, technical compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities Procurement Planning & Execution
- Develop procurement schedules in line with project programs
- Source and prequalify MEP suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs for MEP materials and services
Technical & Commercial Evaluation
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs for procurement scope
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of vendor offers
- Prepare comparison sheets and recommend suitable vendors
Vendor & Order Management
- Negotiate prices, terms, warranties, and delivery schedules
- Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements
- Monitor vendor performance, approvals, and deliveries
Coordination & Delivery
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to meet material requirements
- Track procurement status and resolve supply chain issues
- Ensure materials comply with approved submittals and standards
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor procurement budgets and cost savings
- Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
- Prepare procurement status and cost reports
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and procedures
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and project requirements
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and materials
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP / procurement systems
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and deadlines
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP procurement within construction projects
- UAE / GCC experience preferred
