The Procurement Executive – Automation is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required for automation systems and projects. The role ensures cost-effective procurement of high-quality automation equipment, electrical and electronic parts, control systems, and related services while maintaining timely supply and vendor compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for automation and electrical components (PLC, sensors, drives, panels, motors, actuators, etc.)
- Prepare and process purchase orders, RFQs, and RFPs in accordance with company policies.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with vendors to achieve optimal cost savings.
- Work closely with engineering, project, and production teams to understand material and technical requirements.
- Maintain vendor database, evaluate performance, and ensure supplier quality and reliability.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment of critical automation parts.
- Track and ensure on-time delivery of goods and resolve any supply or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports for audits and management review.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement in the procurement process.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of automation systems, industrial components, and electrical products
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and prioritize procurement tasks
- Analytical thinking and cost optimization mindset
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering, or Supply Chain / Commerce with experience in automation procurement
- 1–2years of experience in procurement or purchase within automation, industrial, or manufacturing sectors
- Knowledge of automation brands (Siemens, Schneider, Allen Bradley, Omron, etc.) is preferred
