Job Purpose: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods and services at optimal cost. This role demands a strong foundation in procurement strategy, effective vendor and team leadership, and a commitment to upholding company policies and industry regulations.


Essential Duties:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and legal teams to ensure high levels of performance and service delivery.
  • Monitor vendor performance using KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, ensure legal compliance, and achieve cost-effective pricing.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to align on timelines, vendor availability, and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. Finance, IT, Operations, Legal) to support broader business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify new vendors that meet stakeholder requirements aligned with business needs.
  • Execute vendor selection based on quality, cost, reliability, and strategic fit.
  • Identify potential risks related to vendors and develop mitigation strategies to avoid disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports on vendor activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Full understanding of procurement processes, sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of effective sourcing strategies, market research techniques, and vendor selection processes to identify the best suppliers.
  • Familiarity with contract law, terms and conditions, and best practices for negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers.
  • Understanding of financial management, budgeting for procurement, cost-saving strategies, and managing procurement expenses within budget constraints.
  • Understanding of procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards, including ethical sourcing and environmental standards.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure the best deals, pricing, and terms with suppliers while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Ability to analyze procurement data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers, internal teams, and senior management.
  • Ability to resolve disputes or conflicts with suppliers or internal stakeholders in a professional and solution-focused manner.
  • Ability to evaluate the total cost of ownership and identify cost-saving opportunities while balancing procurement goals and quality standards.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in business priorities, market conditions, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple procurement activities and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Review of budgets and regular meetings with stakeholders to develop a sourcing calendar.
  • Lead execution of RFPs and other sourcing events.
  • Act as the main point of contact for sourcing projects in the category, including the qualifications of new suppliers.
  • Participate in value engineering projects to drive technical improvements within your categories.
  • Supplier performance monitoring and development.
  • Preparation of savings tracking and reporting for client leadership and stakeholder business units.
  • Tracking and presentation of project statuses.
  • Identify and problem-solve project risks/issues, escalating when necessary to resolve issues affecting our ability to deliver on client expectations.
  • Develop internal client relationships; facilitate communication between client business units, internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Provide first-rate customer service to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership to buyers within the category and ensure effective work breakdown structure across projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, budgeting, market analysis, and sourcing strategies.
  • Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar systems).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing & contracting goods and services.
  • Ability to operate independently as well as interact with suppliers, and internal or client stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Keen ability to deliver on client expectations, influencing others or escalating as needed to do so.
  • Ability to understand and manage complicated operational details and communicate this clearly based on audience (client and/or internal partners).
  • Analytically adept with the ability to interpret complex data for informed decision-making and to assess results.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint and Excel/financial analysis and planning.
  • Proven ability to understand, manage, and negotiate contract business & commercial terms during the contracting process with both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, work well with people in a constantly changing environment, and gain credibility in areas beyond defined scope of work.
  • Customer-focused attitude with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels; Excellent client interfacing skills.
  • Proven technical knowledge across some or all of the following procurement categories: IT, Facilities, and/or Corporate Services.
  • Demonstrated success in managing suppliers, negotiating and managing high-value contracts.
  • Previous experience in a services industry (e.g. professional consulting, BPO, outsourcing) is helpful.
