How you'll make an impact

The Procurement Manager is responsible for supporting the sourcing and procurement needs of the enterprise by assisting in the analysis & planning, negotiating, selecting, implementing, monitoring, governing and terminating of vendor relationships. Procurement is a strategic service to the business. This position will leverage their experience and knowledge to establish sustainable commercial relationships that deliver value to Gallagher. A successful candidate will develop and implement cost-optimization/savings opportunities, while balancing operational performance. This position will work closely with cross-functional leadership and stakeholders within the US as well as globally.

Specific Assigned Sourcing Responsibilities:
  • While all Procurement Managers will generally perform the same tasks, each will have specific areas of responsibility and, within those areas of responsibility specific vendors and vendor management responsibilities.
  • Assigned Areas: Technology Hardware, Software, and Consulting

Procurement/Strategic Sourcing

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the full sourcing process including; strategy development, industry benchmarking, supplier segmentation, negotiations, award recommendation, business case creation, risk assessment, and contract documentation.
  • Delivers savings/financial targets in line with company objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership with the skills to influence others, interact successfully with peers, and with all levels of management in the organization.
  • In addition to traditional sourcing value dimensions, the Procurement Manager will create relationships that adhere to company standards for compliance and minimize risk to the organization.
  • Implements strategies including creation of RFx documents, defines selection criteria and leads supplier selection in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Manages supplier performance against contracted terms and insures adherence to functional and technical requirements.

About You

Required:
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 6 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Excels at communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement or a related Sourcing function
  • Adept at spend and data analytics, as well as understanding and anticipating market trends
  • Adept at managing a portfolio of projects against the 5 or 7 step procurement process
  • Proficient in contract terms negotiation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
