JD For Procurement Manager:
The Procurement Manager – Electrical Segment is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all electrical materials, equipment, and services required for projects and operations. The role ensures cost-effective, timely, and quality procurement in compliance with company policies, technical specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Planning & Strategy
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for electrical materials such as cables, switchgears, panels, transformers, lighting, and related accessories.
- Prepare annual and project-specific procurement plans aligned with project schedules.
- Identify and qualify new vendors to strengthen the supplier base.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on technical, commercial, and delivery criteria.
- Obtain and analyze quotations, prepare comparative statements, and recommend suppliers for approval.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and contractors.
- Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and audits.
3. Negotiation & Cost Control
- Lead negotiations to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets and achieve cost savings targets.
- Track market trends, price fluctuations, and changes in supply conditions for key electrical materials.
4. Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with company approval processes.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications and contractual terms.
- Coordinate with finance and logistics for timely payment and material delivery.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with project, design, and quality teams to ensure materials meet project requirements.
- Work closely with stores and logistics teams to manage delivery schedules and inventory levels.
- Resolve vendor-related issues such as delays, quality deviations, or short supplies.
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, statutory requirements, and audit procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier data, and contracts.
- Support management reporting with procurement metrics and performance dashboards.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and standards (IEC, IS, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Sound commercial acumen and analytical skills
- Good understanding of project procurement cycles
- Effective communication, coordination, and documentation abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Educational Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploam in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- MBA / PG Diploma in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management (added advantage)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
