Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to support one of our nonprofit clients in the health and human services (HHS) sector. This role is hands-on and client-facing, combining day-to-day procurement execution with opportunities to shape strategy and improve processes.

The Procurement Manager will ensure that purchasing activities comply with 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance and other government grant requirements, while driving efficiency, cost savings, and vendor performance.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage procurement policies, contracts, and vendor relationships.

• Execute purchase orders, review invoices, and oversee contract renewals.

• Lead vendor negotiations and RFP processes.

• Monitor compliance with 2 CFR 200 and nonprofit procurement standards.

• Conduct cost analyses and recommend improvements.

• Manage procurement issues and collaborate with client leadership to resolve challenges.

• Supervise and mentor team members while delivering day-to-day procurement tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or related field.

• 5+ years of procurement experience, ideally with nonprofits, HHS, or government-funded organizations.

• Strong knowledge of 2 CFR 200 procurement requirements.

• Skilled in vendor negotiations, contract management, and compliance oversight.

• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with procurement/ERP systems.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with executives, vendors, and staff.

Work Environment

• Hybrid: 2–3 days per week onsite in Chicago, balance remote.

• Occasional travel within Greater Chicagoland; limited out-of-state travel may be required.
