Location: Vasanthanarasapura, Karnataka

Type: Full-time

About the Role:

Magcore is seeking a Purchase Head to lead procurement of raw materials, consumables,

tools, dies, machine spares, and services required for plant operations. The role requires

strong coordination with suppliers, PPC, production, tool room and maintenance teams to

ensure uninterrupted production. This is a hands-on role requiring strong follow-up,

negotiation skills, and the ability to manage both commercial and operational procurement

needs.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning and Material Availability

  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials such as CRGO, CRNGO, electrical steel

sheets, aluminium ingots, and other items required for stamping and die-casting

operations.

  • Procure consumables, spares, cutting tools, die parts, safety items, and maintenance

materials.

  • Coordinate closely with PPC and Production to understand daily/weekly material

requirements.

  • Maintain a structured follow-up mechanism to avoid line stoppages.

Vendor Management and Development

  • Manage vendor relationships and maintain reliable supply channels. Identify and

develop alternate suppliers to reduce dependency and risk.

  • Conduct price comparisons, negotiate costs, and secure competitive rates.
  • Coordinate with Quality for vendor approvals and incoming material quality issues.

Commercials and Cost Control

  • Monitor price trends for sheet metal, aluminium, consumables, and tool room items.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain records for purchase contracts, approvals and audit requirements.

Inventory and Logistics Coordination

  • Work with stores to maintain optimum inventory levels. Ensure timely inbound

logistics and proper material documentation.

  • Track slow-moving and excess inventory and coordinate stock liquidation or corrective

actions.

  • Support dispatch and outbound logistics where coordination is required.

Tooling, Spares and Maintenance Purchases

  • Procure dies, die parts, punches, fixtures, measuring instruments, lubricants, and

maintenance spares.

  • Coordinate with Tool Room and Maintenance to understand priority needs and lead-

times.

  • Manage urgent and breakdown-related purchases with fast turnaround.

Systems, Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain purchase orders, comparison sheets, vendor documents, and delivery

records.

  • Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs and approval workflows.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

Coordination and Communication

  • Work closely with Plant Head, PPC, Production, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance and

Stores.

  • Provide timely updates on material status, delays, or supplier issues.
  • Escalate critical supply risks early to avoid production impact.

Requirements

  • Graduate / Diploma in engineering, supply chain or commerce fields.
  • Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with sheet metal, electrical steel, aluminium, tooling, spares, and

consumables preferred.

  • Experience handling purchases for stamping, die-casting, or precision component

manufacturing is an advantage.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of material specifications and technical requirements.
  • Ability to manage urgent purchases and multi-stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong follow-up, documentation and discipline. Basic understanding of taxes, GST,

invoicing and procurement compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,100,000.00 per year
