Procurement Manager(Automotive Industry)

Job Title: Procurement Manager – Transportation/ Automotive Industry(Gulf)

Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager – Transportation is responsible for leading the procurement and contracting of all transportation-related goods and services. This includes sourcing fleet vehicles, fuel, transport equipment, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. The role ensures cost-effectiveness, compliance, and high service levels while supporting the organization’s transport operations strategy and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for transportation-related categories, including fleet vehicles, maintenance services, fuel, GPS systems, insurance, and outsourced transportation services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prequalify reliable suppliers and logistics service providers (LSPs).
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers and 3PL partners.

2. Procurement Operations

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee tendering, vendor evaluation, contract award, and vendor onboarding for transportation goods/services.
  • Ensure timely procurement to meet operational transport needs without disruption.

3. Fleet & Logistics Support

  • Collaborate with the fleet operations team for procurement of vehicles, tires, spare parts, and workshop tools.
  • Coordinate procurement of telematics, route optimization, and tracking systems to support transport operations.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations (e.g., licenses, emission norms, certifications).

4. Cost & Risk Management

  • Analyze cost drivers in transportation and identify areas for savings.
  • Benchmark supplier rates and performance periodically.
  • Manage procurement-related risks such as supply disruptions, regulatory changes, and vendor default.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor vendor performance through KPIs such as delivery lead times, cost savings, service quality, and contract compliance.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier scorecards, and audit trails.
  • Provide reports on spend analysis, contract status, and market trends to senior management.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with transportation planners, operations, finance, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Support ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and sustainability goals by sourcing eco-friendly and compliant transportation solutions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
