Job Purpose

Ensure that NMDC’s position is protected through an in-depth understanding of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes relating to contracts

Ensure the achievement of NMDC’s projects commercial objectives by sourcing the most suitable economical major suppliers / subcontractors
Principal Accountabilities

Prepare Bidders list from the vendors’ management system and/or in conjunction with the relevant department

Perform due diligence for the prequalification of new vendors

Liaise with end user to define or refine the required scope; prepares RFQ/RFP documents

Provide market data to end users or other Departments in terms of product / service availability and pricing
-
Lead in the preparation of tender documents and bidding process for service providers, suppliers or subcontractors as required by the relevant end user including the understanding and incorporation of technical requirements

Lead the subsequent commercial and technical evaluation of offers and leads the discussions and negotiations with the successful bidder

Prepare a comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation report and subsequently a recommendation report in conjunction with the relevant department

Expedite deliveries post-PO placement

Monitor the execution of the order, coordinates with QHSE or relevant Department and escalates potential problems on time

Provide guidance and supervision to junior procurement staff
Educational Qualifications and experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
Certifications
-
Certification: CIPS (Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent certifications would be an advantage
