Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the company's procurement activities, including local and international purchasing. The role requires ensuring cost-efficient, timely and quality procurement processes while adhering to company policies and compliance standards. The Procurement Officer will collaborate with internal departments, suppliers and stakeholders to streamline procurement operations and achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for local and international purchases.
- Source and negotiate with reliable suppliers to secure favorable terms and quality products.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and international vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve any supply chain issues promptly.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate procurement records, contracts and reports.
Market Research:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing and supplier availability.
- Evaluate and propose cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Logistics Coordination:
- Manage the shipping, customs clearance and delivery of international orders.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents and transporters for seamless operations.
Budget Management:
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure expenditures align with financial plans.
- Provide cost analysis and forecasts for major purchases.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, technical teams and finance departments to understand procurement requirements.
- Provide timely updates on procurement progress and challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, including local and international purchasing.
- Experience in the engineering sector is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
Other:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
