Procurement Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Procurement Officer to join our steel fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials required for fabrication and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure steel materials, hardware, consumables, tools, and equipment required for fabrication and site projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and value for the company.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and workshop supervisors to understand material requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
• Verify purchased materials against specifications and project requirements.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with the accounts department regarding invoices, payments, and supplier reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a steel fabrication, construction, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of steel materials, fabrication consumables, and construction-related procurement.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software is an advantage.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE procurement experience in the steel fabrication or construction industry.
• Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,200.00 per month
