Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Procurement Officer - Biomass to manage the sourcing and procurement of biomass materials, including rice husk, agricultural residues, and other solid biofuels for our biomass boiler and power generation operations. The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted raw material supply at competitive pricing while maintaining strong supplier relationships and quality standards.

The responsibilities includes following but not limited to these

• Source and procure biomass fuel from approved vendors
• Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms
• Ensure timely supply to avoid boiler downtime
• Coordinate with plant/store teams regarding stock levels
• Ensure proper storage and handling of biomass material
• Plan deliveries according to consumption patterns
• Prepare purchase orders and contracts
• Maintain procurement records and reports
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Department/Management

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in biomass, agro-commodities, or solid fuels.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of biomass properties (moisture, calorific value, ash content).
• Knowledge of logistics and transportation management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP or similar preferred).
