The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing all materials, accessories, and services required for uniform and garment production. This includes fabrics, trims, packaging items, and machinery-related supplies. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven procurement aligned with production schedules and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for fabrics, buttons, zippers, threads, labels, and packaging materials.
- Request quotations, prepare price comparison sheets, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery of all materials.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new vendors to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with production, design, and quality teams to ensure materials meet required specifications.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase records, supplier databases, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan material replenishment based on production requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and material cost analysis.
- Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth receiving, inspection, and storage of materials.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of procurement experience, preferably in garment, textile, or uniform manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment accessories.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail with effective organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
