Material Planning & Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
The Procurement Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective
procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for production and
operations. This role involves demand forecasting, supplier coordination, production
coordination, inventory planning, and continuous process improvement to support
efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain procurement plans based on production schedules and

inventory levels.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, stores, estimation) to

understand material requirements and timelines.

  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services

by mapping the lead time and transit time.

  • Optimize procurement processes to reduce costs without compromising quality

or service levels.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier

communications.

  • Analyze inventory trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks through proactive planning and escalating

issues.

  • Utilize ERP systems and procurement tools to manage planning and purchasing

activities.

  • Support the implementation of ERP systems and procurement tools.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, Business

Administration, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in planning, or supply chain roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced

environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in supply chain or procurement
  • Experience with international sourcing, long term planning and forecasting tools
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with people from different

nationalities

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, MRP, JIT, or other supply chain optimization

methodologies.
