We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Procurement Professional to join our client's dynamic trading operation in Sohar, Oman. This role is essential for our continued regional expansion, requiring end-to-end management of the heavy equipment procurement cycle, strategic global sourcing, and meticulous adherence to local and regional trade regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Manage the sourcing and purchase of used heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, crushers, batching plants, and specialized machinery) from global and regional markets.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and build strategic relationships with reliable international and regional suppliers, dealers, and auction houses.
  • Negotiation & Contract: Lead all negotiation activities, securing purchase agreements, favorable terms, and competitive pricing to ensure commercial advantage.
  • Regional Compliance: Ensure rigorous compliance with all Omani customs laws, import/export regulations, and GCC trade protocols throughout the procurement and logistics process.
  • Operational Alignment: Collaborate closely with the sales and operations teams to align procurement strategies with current market demands and inventory requirements.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor international and regional market trends, pricing fluctuations, and availability of heavy equipment.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, detailed reports, and forecasting for effective management review.

Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Any discipline).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of strategic, end-to-end procurement experience in any industry demonstrating high-value sourcing and vendor management skills.
  • Sourcing Expertise: Proven track record in strategic global and regional sourcing and purchasing.
  • Language Fluency: Native-level proficiency in Arabic (verbal and written) is essential for managing local contracts, supplier relations, and navigating regional communication.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge of Omani and wider GCC trade practices, customs, and commercial regulations.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, contract management, and simultaneous project management capabilities.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern ERP/procurement systems.
