Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires expertise in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and supplier management, with a strong focus on quality and compliance with federal acquisition regulations.
Qualifications
- Preferred candidate would speak fluent Chinese (Mandarin)
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the wholesale trade industry
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Necessary Proficiency in using procurement software and Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Necessary The Procurement Specialist utilizes negotiation skills daily to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency
- Preferred Analytical skills are essential for evaluating supplier performance, market trends, and procurement data to make informed purchasing decisions
- Necessary Strong communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams, helping to resolve issues and align procurement activities with business needs
Responsibilities
- The Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the purchasing processes within the wholesale trade industry / distribution center
- This position is responsible for sourcing high-quality products and services at competitive prices to support the company’s operational and strategic goals
- The specialist will collaborate closely with suppliers, internal departments, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and maintain strong vendor relationships
- By analyzing market trends and supplier performance, the role aims to reduce costs while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies
- Ultimately, the Procurement Specialist ensures that procurement activities contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of the organization
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery time, and service
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with internal teams such as inventory management, finance, and operations to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports on purchasing activities and cost savings
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and innovations relevant to the wholesale trade sector
- Organizational skills are critical for managing multiple purchase orders, contracts, and deadlines simultaneously
- Additionally, proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems streamlines the purchasing process, enhances accuracy, and supports reporting and compliance efforts

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
