Procurement Supervisor

• Procurement Supervisor/ Section Head
• § Supervise a range of complex procurement services/requests/orders within given timelines and guidelines to meet agreed upon service levels
• § Implement technically advanced and more complex procurement activities to ensure fulfilment of organizational requirements and liaise with internal/external experts on technical issues
• § Supervise the work of the team by setting priorities, distributing and overseeing work tasks and ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures
• § Contribute to the effective resolution of technically complex procurement problems/escalations and ensure issues are referred to promptly with notification to management
• § Negotiate and renegotiate the contracts terms and conditions to ensure optimal cost-effectiveness is reflected
• § Monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers/vendors/contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions and service level agreements
• § Provide recommendations on report analyses to ensure management is guided with technical information required for decision-making purposes
• § Supervise and coach team members to ensure optimal performance is achieved and provide improvement recommendations as required
• § Carry out assigned activities in specified area as instructed by the manager and with minimal direct supervision.
• § Oversee the estimation of the purchase request/contractual value to ensure alignment with the budget prior to approval and processing
• § Identify and develop relationships with potential suppliers/vendors to ensure the availability of a pool/database of acceptable candidates
• § Examine and assess applications from Tenders/RFPs/RFQs and conduct initial analyses with requesters on applicants’ qualifications/credentials

Experience & Education

• o University Degree preferably in Business Commerce or Engineering
• o 4 - 6 years of experience
