The Property Management Division (PMD) serves three primary functions for the agency; Facilities Management, Fleet Management, and Supply Management. The Property Management Division is responsible for providing comprehensive facilities management through the capital and operating budget process.

Duties

This position supports the Supply Section Mission and goals as the primary purchasing agent of special orders, items not available in the warehouse, including items on and off statewide contract, by following the guidelines outlined by the Department of Enterprise Services (DES), Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW), and WSP policy, procedures, and standards. This position will request quotes or bids as required. The position also acts as a backup, processing orders for items stocked in the warehouse and the Information Technology Division (ITD). This position conducts simple to complex procurements that are required to be competitively bid, or sole source acquisitions.

Our new teammate will be able to:


  • Coordinates and performs procurement of supplies, materials, parts, and equipment for the agency.
  • Works with specialized groups (SWAT, RDT, K-9, Fleet, Bomb Squad and others) within WSP on simple to complex procurements of mission critical items.
  • Determine appropriate course of action/procurement methodology including, but not limited to, competitive bids, sole source acquisition’s, and request for proposal or direct negotiations.
  • Conducts research on new items utilizing DES, Washington Electronic Business Solutions (WEBS) when going out for bids on non-contract items. Follow all DES and WSP purchasing guidelines for all procurements.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Two years as a Procurement and Supply Specialist 1 (Full time experience as a purchasing professional will substitute on a year for year basis )
