We are a Houston, Texas–based General Contractor engaged in a wide range of commercial construction projects across the United States. We are seeking a motivated Procurement & Tendering Intern to join our Lahore office. This opportunity is ideal for a fresh Civil Engineering graduate who wants to develop expertise in US construction procurement, vendor sourcing, subcontractor coordination, tender preparation, and bid management.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Support
- Assist in creating and processing purchase orders based on project requirements.
- Support vendor and supplier sourcing activities for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Research and identify new suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers based on project location and scope.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and technical teams to understand material, equipment, and service requirements.
- Assist in obtaining and comparing quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Help evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, delivery timelines, and reliability.
- Support the preparation and submission of Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and other procurement documents.
- Assist in reviewing project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to support procurement and tendering activities.
- Help collect pricing information and technical documentation required for bid and tender submissions.
- Assist in preparing bid comparison sheets, vendor evaluation reports, and procurement analyses.
- Support the preparation of technical submittals for architects and consultants according to project specifications.
- Maintain and update supplier databases, procurement records, tender logs, and vendor performance reports.
- Track purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and follow up with suppliers regarding order status.
- Help ensure procured materials and services comply with project specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining procurement and tender-related documentation and correspondence.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely completion of procurement and bidding activities.
- Support the procurement and tendering team in improving sourcing strategies, vendor relationships, and operational processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of construction materials, procurement, and tendering processes.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
- Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Word, and PDF documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn US construction procurement and tendering practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
