Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Product Manager – Software Development with a strong background in Food Technology to lead requirement engineering, system design coordination, and client engagement for food-industry-focused digital solutions (SaaS / ERP / Compliance Platforms / LIMS).

The ideal candidate will combine deep food industry domain expertise with a solid understanding of software architecture, SDLC methodologies, and Agile product delivery. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams and direct interaction with clients to ensure scalable, compliant, and user-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Engineering & System Design

• Conduct structured requirement discovery workshops with stakeholders
• Prepare comprehensive documentation including:
• Business Requirement Document (BRD)
• Functional Requirement Document (FRD)
• Software Requirement Specification (SRS)
• Use Case Diagrams & Workflow Maps
• Define system modules, functional logic, and data workflows
• Identify integration points (APIs, third-party systems, ERP integrations)
• Translate food manufacturing workflows into structured system architecture
• Perform impact analysis for enhancements and change requests

2. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Management

• Operate within Agile / Scrum frameworks
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning
• Define and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Validate features during sprint reviews and ensure release readiness
• Collaborate with QA teams for test case validation and UAT preparedness
• Ensure alignment between product roadmap and engineering execution

3. Technical & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Backend, Frontend, UI/UX, and DevOps teams
• Participate in architecture and scalability discussions
• Review API documentation and integration logic
• Ensure system performance, security, and scalability considerations are embedded in design
• Maintain technical documentation and product artifacts

4. Food Industry Domain Integration

Ensure product modules support:

• Product formulation and recipe management
• Raw material traceability and lot tracking
• Batch manufacturing records (BMR)
• Shelf-life and stability management
• HACCP documentation and audit readiness
• Regulatory compliance (FSSAI labeling, ISO 22000, export standards)
• QA/QC test result tracking
• Vendor management and procurement workflows

5. Client-Facing Responsibilities

• Conduct technical product demonstrations and solution walkthroughs
• Present system architecture and technical feasibility
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Manage change requests with structured impact assessment
• Support onboarding, implementation, and post-deployment optimization
• Act as a bridge between clients and engineering teams

Required Skills & Competencies

Domain Expertise

• Strong knowledge of food processing operations
• Understanding of compliance frameworks (FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP)
• Knowledge of product lifecycle in food manufacturing

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of REST APIs and system integrations
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database structures
• Familiarity with ER diagrams and system workflows
• Exposure to SaaS multi-tenant architecture

Tools & Platforms

• Jira / ClickUp / Azure DevOps
• Figma / Balsamiq
• Confluence / Notion

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech / M.Tech – Food Technology / Food Science
• Certification in Agile / Scrum (Preferred)
• Product Management certification (Added advantage)
