Product Data Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join Bayer Global Business Services (GBS) team as an SAP PLM Product Data Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing and structuring specification, recipes from Bill of Materials (BoM). The product recipes will be general and site recipes for Bayers products (Pharma, Crop Science and Consumer Health products) within SAP PLM system. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the accuracy and completeness of specification, general and site recipes to support our product manufacturing and regulatory compliance efforts. A strong background in SAP product supply data in Life Science, excellent research skills, and proficiency in Excel is essential for success in this position. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, product supply (manufacturing and quality), to ensure accurate data management and compliance with industry standards.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, review, and maintain specifications, general and site-specific recipes in SAP PLM (CORE) using Bills of Materials (BoM) from ERP systems and/or pallet pattern.
• Review documents, such as product specifications (from divisional systems) and product dossiers, to extract relevant SKU/product information.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of recipes and properties to ensure accuracy, consistency and traceability to meet the regulation and GxP requirements
• Define and maintain specification data standards across all 3 divisions i.e. Consumer Health, Pharma and Crop science.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and alignment across SAP PLM, ERP, and MES systems.
• Support product data migration, enrichment, and post-migration validation activities, including after-data-validation reviews.
• Data collection, Data Enrichment and Data Cleansing of specification & recipes in standardized templates for migration, creation, validation, and reporting.
• Create and maintain training material or guideline documents for Bayer cross-functional teams.
• Identify data quality issues, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and support system enhancements to improve data management efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, product supply, and quality control, to address data-related inquiries and provide accurate and timely information.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of the best practices for data management practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols throughout the data enrichment process.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Packaging engineering, data management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with SAP PLM and BoM management in ERP, preferably in a consumer health, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of chemical formulations, recipes (general and site) for manufacturing.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documents, including product specifications and dossiers.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and guidelines governing recipe management for Consumer Health, Pharmaceutical and Crop Science products.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Ability to organize and manipulate data in Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present data-driven insights.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with SAP PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software is an advantage, but not a mandatory requirement.
