Product Development Manager

As we expand, we’re looking for a creative and organized Product Development Specialist to help us develop new products, improve existing offerings, and enhance our online product experience.

Role Overview

The Product Development Specialist will play a key role in driving product innovation from concept to launch. This includes researching trends, testing new ideas, coordinating with suppliers and packaging vendors, and ensuring products meet our quality and brand standards. You’ll work closely with the operations, marketing, and e-commerce teams to bring fresh and sustainable food ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Research & Innovation
• Identify new product opportunities within the berries and seafood categories (e.g., frozen packs, value-added seafood items, dried berries, gift boxes, etc.)
• Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to guide product ideas.
• Experiment with product combinations, recipes, or packaging that enhance freshness and shelf life.
• Supplier & Vendor Coordination
• Source and maintain relationships with suppliers, fisheries, farms, and packaging partners.
• Evaluate supplier quality and negotiate terms to ensure consistency and sustainability.
• Product Testing & Quality Control
• Organize sampling, taste tests, and product trials.
• Work with logistics and cold chain teams to maintain product integrity during shipping.
• E-Commerce Integration
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging product listings, descriptions, and visuals.
• Assist with pricing strategy and product positioning online.
• Project Management
• Develop timelines for new product launches and track progress.
• Maintain detailed documentation of formulas, sourcing info, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in food product development, culinary innovation, food science, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of fresh, frozen, or perishable food products—especially seafood and/or berries.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with operational practicality.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Comfort working in a small business environment—flexible, hands-on, and self-driven.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with food packaging design or shelf-life testing.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.).
• Understanding of sustainable sourcing and local food systems.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
