Product Development Merchandiser

Location: Perungudi, Chennai
Experience Required: 5–7 years
Salary Range: ₹50,000 – ₹60,000 per month (₹6–7.2 LPA)

We are looking for an experienced Product Development Merchandiser who can manage end-to-end product creation—from proto development and costing to production coordination and vendor management.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with international buyers, deep product knowledge across multiple categories (menswear, womenswear, kidswear, lingerie), and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development

· Execute proto, fit, lab dips, artwork, and SMS samples accurately and on time.

· Review tech packs, create BOMs, and ensure proper development handover.

· Research fabrics & trims; coordinate with suppliers for sample approvals and feasibility.

Costing & Buyer Coordination

· Prepare pre-costing and final costing for all styles.

· Handle pricing discussions, approvals, and development updates with buyers.

· Manage communication across all sample stages and T&A milestones.

Production & TNA

· Create, maintain, and monitor T&A calendars.

· Coordinate with production to ensure timely, quality output.

· Track RM (fabric & trims) commitments and follow up until inhouse.

Vendor Management

· Coordinate with mills, trim suppliers, printers, embroidery vendors, and jobwork teams.

· Ensure timely execution of outsourced tasks and approvals.

· Support onboarding and evaluation of new vendors.

Documentation & Systems

· Maintain sample trackers, approval logs, and production reports.

· Use ERP/SAP/PLM systems for PO creation, RM tracking, and data management.

Required Skills

· Strong understanding of fabric, trims, construction, yarns & testing standards

· Hands-on experience with tech packs, BOM, costing & buyer communication

· Strong knowledge of T&A planning, sample workflow & production coordination

· Good command over Excel and ERP tools (SAP/CRM/PLM/MOVEX preferred)

· Excellent communication, coordination & problem-solving skills

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in export houses or large apparel manufacturers, especially with brands like:

· VS, Jockey, TCP, FOTL, BBV

· Izod, Van Heusen, Arrow, GH Bass

· Shahi Exports, Best Corporation, MAS Holdings, or similar companies
