Job Summary


The Product Development & Sourcing Executive will play a key role in translating design concepts into commercially viable, high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of textile and apparel product development, sourcing processes, and cost optimization. Working closely with the design team and PD & S Manager, the Executive will ensure timely development, quality compliance, and effective supplier collaboration to support GMG’s strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with Design, PD leads, factories, and sourcing partners to explore and evaluate product development possibilities while balancing cost, design intent, functionality, and feasibility.
  • Translate design concepts into physical products by accurately following tech packs, design briefs, and brand guidelines.
  • Conduct benchmarking and technical analysis to define product specifications, including fit, fabric composition, construction, and finishing.
  • Validate and manage product costing to ensure alignment with target margins; standardize costing formats and drive cost efficiencies with suppliers.
  • Define and enforce quality standards in collaboration with Quality Controllers, ensuring products meet internal benchmarks and regional compliance requirements.
  • Manage regulatory compliance related to materials, labeling, and testing in line with local and international standards.
  • Maintain a comprehensive development library, including samples, swatches, supplier submissions, and benchmark references.
  • Track sample inwards, development timelines, deliveries, and stock flow to support efficient assortment and inventory management.


Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of textile and apparel product development processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrics, printing, dyeing, and apparel manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with global textile and apparel supply chains.
  • Awareness of quality standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of logistics and regulatory terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for tracking, reporting, and cost validation.
  • Hands-on experience working with tech packs and translating design inputs into actionable development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate degree, diploma, or relevant technical education in Textiles, Apparel, or Product Development .
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product development or sourcing.
  • At least 2 recent years of hands-on experience working with a factory, liaison office, buying agency, or the product development division of a retailer.
