JOB DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT MANAGER

The Learning Management System (LMS) Product Manager will take full ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of the LMS. This role requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, ensuring that the LMS meets the needs of end-users while adhering to timelines and delivering a seamless user experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including end-users, developers, and Testing Team (Quality Assurance) to ensure the LMS meets organizational needs and delivers an excellent user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Development:

·        Define and own the product vision and strategy for the LMS, aligned with the organization’s educational goals.

·        Create and maintain a clear product roadmap with prioritized features and enhancements, considering user feedback and market trends.

·        Communicate the roadmap and progress to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives


2. Requirement Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement:

·        Gather inputs on the product, get the feedback from end users.

·        Analyze, validate, and refine requirements, ensuring they are both feasible and aligned with long-term product goals.

·        Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and surveys to gather insights for continuous product improvement.


3. Documentation & Functional Specifications:

·        Create clear and comprehensive product requirement documents (PRDs), wireframes, and user stories to guide the development team.

·        Ensure all requirements are fully documented, reviewed, and agreed upon by key stakeholders before development begins.


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with development teams to clarify requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Serve as the key point of contact between developers, testing team and other departments to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery.


 5. Project Management & Delivery:

  • Develop and manage project timelines, set realistic milestones, and monitor progress to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early, mitigating any blockers or delays through proactive problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with marketing, training, and support teams to prepare for feature releases, ensuring all departments are aligned.


6. Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the product testing process, ensuring thorough unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) is completed.
  • Coordinate with Testing team to track bugs and issues, ensuring all critical items are resolved before release.
  • Conduct post-release testing and continuously monitor for issues to guarantee product stability.


7. Product Launch & Post-Launch Monitoring:

  • Manage end-to-end product launches, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment and adoption.
  • Monitor product performance through analytics and user feedback, quickly addressing any post-launch issues.
  • Gather ongoing feedback and track usage data to inform future product improvements and updates.


8. Continuous Product Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings in the LMS and EdTech space.
  • Proactively suggest new features, functionalities, or system improvements to keep the product competitive and aligned with evolving educational needs.


Qualification:

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the LMS or EdTech domain.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with LMS platforms understanding of APIs, integrations, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential issues and roadblocks early, developing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery.
  • User-Centered Mindset: Understand the end-user requirements, with a focus on creating an intuitive, engaging, and effective user experience.
