The Product Manager – Distribution role encompasses the strategy, development, and execution of product enhancements and integrations that support insurance product growth and distribution. This includes managing critical partner relationships, overseeing API integrations, and ensuring product and platform updates enable faster go-to-market execution and scalable partner adoption.
This role focuses on owning change management for distribution partners, updating existing products, and ensuring that features, rules, and workflows evolve in step with business and underwriting needs. Core activities include managing the Broker Proxy API, driving enhancements to underwriting rules and hazards, and coordinating across internal and external stakeholders to deliver operationally efficient, scalable solutions.
The Product Manager – Distribution plays a critical role in ensuring the platform supports profitable growth through timely product updates and seamless integrations with partners. By leading execution and collaboration, this role accelerates product launches, reduces delivery delays, and enables distribution partners to capture premium faster.
The primary objective of the Product Manager – Distribution role is to strengthen partnerships, improve product execution, and deliver scalable enhancements that drive market growth and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities of the Product Manager – Distribution Role:
Relationship Management:
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for key distribution partners.
  • Lead all change management activities with distribution stakeholders, including monthly calls and collaboration with Underwriting, Insurance Innovation, and Actuarial teams.

Broker API Ownership:
  • Own how the carrier platform integrates with the ecosystem and external partners.
  • Manage updates to APIs to ensure scalability and support new and existing distribution initiatives.

Product Development and Strategy:
  • Collaborate with Insurance Innovation, Operations, and Underwriting to build and manage a roadmap of enhancements that drive profitable growth with distribution partners.
  • Define, prioritize, and scope features needed to support submissions, quoting, policy servicing, billing, and broker API integrations.

Execution of Roadmap:
  • Own end-to-end execution and delivery of features and enhancements with dedicated engineering and design teams.
  • Implement new UI, workflows, and functionality to support new insurance products.

Insurance Product Improvements:
  • Manage updates to underwriting rules, hazard definitions, rating logic, product definitions, and supporting UX/UI.
  • Drive straight-through processing (STP) improvements and authority rule refinements.
  • Coordinate product updates for new lines (e.g., Crime, Excess) and ensure alignment across quoting, submission data, and hazards.

Example Initiatives:
  • Updating forms, raters, STP/authority rules, and supporting UI.
  • Managing product updates for quoting workflows, quote letters, binders, and policies.
  • Coordinating with vendors (e.g., BriteCore) to implement and support product changes.
Business Impact
  • Faster product launches: Accelerated go-to-market execution enables quicker premium capture.
  • Efficiency gains: 20% reduction in delivery delays and engineering waste, leading to faster speed-to-market.
  • Operational scalability: Ensure distribution partners can adopt new products and workflows with minimal friction.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager in insurance, fintech, or other complex B2B technology domains.
  • Strong track record of managing partner relationships and executing change management.
  • Experience defining and delivering API integrations and platform enhancements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business requirements into scalable product solutions.
  • Familiarity with underwriting rules, rating engines, hazards, and insurance product structures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across business, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives and partner demands simultaneously.

Salary range $135, 000 - $170,000
The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
