Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Product Owner / Technical Scrum Lead to support Wells Fargo’s internal Offer Management platforms, which power banking and credit card promotional offers. This role will guide two highly collaborative Scrum teams focused on middleware servicing, internal applications, and offer/promo management capabilities.
This position requires strong product ownership skills, experience supporting technical teams, and the ability to manage overlapping Scrum responsibilities for a brief period. While deep hands-on technical expertise is not required, the ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting service development, microservices, and API-driven platforms.
You will work closely with strong technical leads, collaborate across a 50-person product group, and regularly communicate updates and planning with leadership.
Responsibilities:
Serve as Product Owner for a Scrum team focused on middleware servicing and backend support for Wells Fargo offer management platforms.
Temporarily support a second Scrum team for 1–1.5 sprints (2–3 weeks) during a backfill period.
Partner with engineering leads to prioritize backlog items, refine user stories, and ensure delivery of platform enhancements.
Manage and track work using Jira and Confluence, ensuring visibility and documentation across teams.
Communicate product progress, risks, and updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
Support internal Wells Fargo applications related to promotional offer workflows and functionality.
Collaborate closely with marketing, tech, and product partners across a shared ecosystem of ~50 colleagues.
Participate in planning related to release timelines, cross-team dependencies, and platform improvements.
Provide direction grounded in product management best practices, Agile methodology, and change management.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Experience leading technical Scrum teams, with the ability to manage two teams concurrently during a short overlap period.
Financial services experience, particularly in marketing, promotional offers, or offer management workflows.
Experience supporting data center migrations, microservices, middleware products, or data service platforms.
Hands-on expertise with Jira and Confluence for Agile delivery.
Strong background in product management / product ownership in an Agile environment.
Familiarity with service development or integration (supporting—not developing).
Solid understanding of APIs, backend/middleware workflows, and platform integrations.
Proven success in change management and cross-functional communication.
Experience working in highly collaborative, multi-team product environments.
Strong communicator who can effectively translate technical updates for leadership.
Collaborative mindset, especially in matrixed organizations.
Ability to manage ambiguity and prioritize across multiple teams.
Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.
Scrum Master or Product Owner certifications (CSPO, CSM, SAFe) (preferred)
Background in offer management platforms, financial promotions, or marketing technologies. (preferred)
Experience in large enterprise or highly regulated environments. (preferred)
