Salary: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm

Junior Graphic Designer

Entry level art department responsibilities. Use basic art skills and knowledge of computer programs to assist the art department in with various tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Mockup incoming art from sales and use production specifications to complete.
  • Set up, separate and modify art for screen printing according to production specifications.
  • Crop images and save them in various formats and sizes for use on the web.
  • Create original art and edit art according to specifications from sales team.
  • Assist with marketing assets and provide support with various marketing projects.
  • Learn how to set up and modify screen art according to productions specifications.

Requirements:

  • Proficient with software - Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and application of screen printing and spot color separations is a must
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts.
  • Attention to visual details. i.e. spelling.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations with a calm level judgment

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Regularly stand for long periods of time while reaching with hands and arms * Lift and/or move up to 50lbs at times * Specific abilities include, focus, depth perception and ability to identify colors * Familiar with Pantone colors * Ability to read, write and comprehend complex written or oral instructions, short correspondence, and memos, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to warm or cold weather. The employee maybe exposed to chemicals which requires safety equipment such as a face mask and apron to be worn. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

The employee maybe exposed to chemicals which requires safety equipment such as a face mask and apron to be worn. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education/Experience:

One year of art related experience. Visual portfolio of applicable art projects.

Printing experience is a plus.
