The Production Control, Shipping Help Desk position is responsible for overseeing daily outbound logistics activities to ensure accurate, timely, and cost‑effective delivery performance. This role manages carrier scheduling, shipment documentation, pickup coordination, and exception handling while serving as the primary liaison between Customer Service, Logistics, Export, Transportation teams, and external partners.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate daily outbound shipping operations, including carrier scheduling, pickup requests, call tags, and transportation partner communication to ensure timely and accurate freight movement.
- Manage shipment exceptions, reships, billing discrepancies, and carrier constraints, leading timely resolution to protect on-time delivery performance.
- Prioritize and distribute workload for escalations, expedite requests, and recovery actions to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of shipment data and documentation (BOLs, labels, tracking, export paperwork) to prevent carrier delays and delivery disruptions.
- Prepare and submit Advance Shipping Notifications (ASNs) accurately and on time.
- Act as the central liaison between Customer Service, Logistics, Export, Transportation, carriers, and external partners to align shipment priorities and coordinate execution.
- Support domestic and international shipping operations across internal facilities and third-party plants to ensure consistent outbound standards and service levels.
- Identify system and process inefficiencies impacting outbound flow and partner with leadership to implement sustainable improvements and automation initiatives.
- Track, analyze, and report delivery performance metrics (e.g., OTD, exceptions, reships, carrier performance) to drive continuous improvement and operational visibility.
- Serve as the primary SAP EWM resource for outbound shipping processes, providing troubleshooting, user support, training, and ensuring accurate shipment confirmations; monitor system performance and escalate configuration or transactional issues to EWM and Logistics Support teams as needed.
Who You Are
Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Operations of Logistics strongly preferred.
3+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or automation environments.
Solid understanding of outbound shipping processes, transportation coordination, and warehouse workflows
Experience coordinating customer delivery, shipment exceptions, or transportation workflows preferred
Demonstrated ability to interface with Customer Service, Logistics, and external carriers
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on managing escalations and resolving cross-functional issues
Strong analytical and documentation skills to support OTD and delivery performance transparency
Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance urgency and process discipline
