Summary
Spectrum Aquatics is a Montana manufacturer that specializes in designing and producing commercial aquatics equipment. The Production Associate directly reports to the Director of Engineering and supports the manufacturing department in a wide array of activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare all cycle count sheets, enter count information, and run variance reports for review.
- Cut, issue, close, and cancel all custom and standard work orders and review all bill of materials for accuracy.
- Assist the Director of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales departments in ordering raw material and drop ship items.
- Post inventory adjustments, issues, and transfer forms.
- Process all material orders placed by vendors.
- Work with the accounting department to process and post work order disassembly entries.
- Update and display the production weekly dashboard.
- Create new part numbers based on approved New Part Number forms.
- Works with Purchasing department or vendors to resolve product concerns.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends corrective/preventive actions to resolve such discrepancies.
- Manage inventory locations, when necessary, assigns, maintains BIN locations.
- Ensure that delivery schedules are met by working with sales, the drafting/design department and manufacturing department to ensure product fabrication can meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering on raw materials change notifications
- Support the shipping department as needed to ensure timely delivery of orders and shipping quotations.
- Assesses production workloads to provide Director of Manufacturing with lead time estimations and manpower availability. Manages work order completion changes, bottlenecks, material shortages, or updates.
- Assist in prioritization, planning, scheduling, and management of production activities to meet manufacturing objectives in timely and cost-effective manner.
- Identify production issues, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions.
- Assist in development of process improvements to improve workflow efficiency.
- Communicate production updates and errors to Manager on regular basis.
- Generate production related reports to Manager when needed.
- Communicate complex issues to Manager for immediate resolution.
- Assist with or accept other duties as may be considered necessary in the circumstances or as directed by management.
- Coordinate production schedules and ensure alignment with demand planning and inventory targets
- Manage supply chain activities, including procurement, logistics, and supplier communication
- Utilize SAP, Oracle, and other ERP systems to monitor production workflows, inventory levels, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) processes
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production planning and implement lean manufacturing practices
- Oversee inventory control measures to maintain accurate stock levels and reduce waste
- Support forecasting efforts by analyzing demand trends and adjusting production plans accordingly
- Facilitate communication across departments to resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions or production delays
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle; familiarity with MRP processes is essential
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and demand planning techniques
- Experience with inventory management, inventory control, and forecasting methods
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and suppliers
