Exciting Opportunity: Production Designer II in Norcross, GA!

Are you a creative and detail-oriented designer with a passion for transforming architectural intent into tangible products? Join our dynamic team as a Production Designer II at our Norcross, GA facility, where you will utilize both 2D and 3D design tools to make a significant impact on our manufacturing processes!

What You'll Do:

  • Transform Ideas into Reality: Use your expertise to create detailed production drawings and 3D models that adhere to clear standards and protocols, translating architectural designs into accurate representations for manufacturing.

  • Master the Craft: Be knowledgeable about manufacturing department manuals and training materials, ensuring that you and your team are equipped with the best practices for production drawing.

  • Library Management: Proficiently create and maintain component and drawing libraries, streamlining the design process and enhancing productivity.

  • Track and Analyze: Utilize production drawing and mockup reports to monitor productivity, analyze delays, and resolve potential obstacles to ensure timely task completion.

  • High-Level Fabrication Drawings: Prepare and check high-level production drawings for both internal and external fabrication, ensuring detailed component and assembly drawings are accurate and ready for production.

  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks of production drawings, providing constructive feedback to the design team and management to ensure successful deliverables.

  • Collaborate for Success: Communicate effectively with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify root causes of design and fabrication issues, proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.

  • Prototype Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate product prototypes and assess the feasibility of production, initiating mockups and tests as needed for new or complex projects.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, R&D, product management, manufacturing, and Quality teams to develop and improve processes for new and existing products.

  • Industry Insight: Demonstrate strong business acumen by understanding industry trends, monitoring competition, and participating in trade organizations like CISCA to promote company growth.

  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Project Managers, providing guidance and expertise to drive project success.

  • Design with Precision: Develop detailed designs using SolidWorks with minimal supervision, showcasing your technical skills and creativity.

  • Effective Communication: Utilize your strong communication skills to collaborate with a variety of cross-functional team members, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the design process.



IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing complex projects within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, with a strong focus on metal fabrication techniques, including punching, bending, and assembly.
  • Design Proficiency: Expertise in 2D and 3D design tools and software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Rhino, and AutoCAD.
  • Construction Acumen: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and perform accurate takeoffs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess a working knowledge of databases to support project management and reporting.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, enabling you to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
