Job Summary:

This position will lead our production and plant operations for Adams MultiMedia Group/Skagit Publishing. . This position will manage a staff working in the press, mailroom, commercial print pricing and the relationship with our customers. This position will be responsible for printing and fulfilling all intercompany products and all commercial printing customers. This position must have a strong managerial background and skill-set related to commercial printing. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess effective presentation skills, creativity, strategic thinking, idea generator, good oral and written comprehension, deductive reasoning, and excellent managerial skills. Must have a strong work ethic and ability to motivate staff and willingness to lead by example.

Job Functions:

  • This position will work to develop production staff directly or indirectly through managers
  • This position will be involved in budget development and projections for the region
  • This position will oversee all day-to-day function for all printing jobs that come through the plant
  • This position will oversee commercial print sales staff to insure adequate jobs are flowing through the operation to support expenses.
  • This position will work with other regional managers to insure all activity related to publishing runs smoothly
  • This position will invest substantial time looking for opportunities to grow and advance our business or to streamline our operation or process.
  • This position will insure there is sufficient inventory on hand to support staff to meet deadlines and expectations
  • This position will be the point person for commercial print customers if issues or major changes arise
  • This position will authorize all printing quotes and manage each job to produce sufficient profit
  • This position will rely extensively on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • This position will provide vacation and illness relief for their direct reports
  • Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values
  • Initiate and nurture effective, professional relationships with internal and external contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the commercial printing industry
  • At least 5 years successful track record of management experience.

Technology Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, & outlook/thunderbird required. Ability to learn other relevant software programs and teach direct reports is important.

Education:

Bachelors degree or the equivalency of 5+ years experience in commercial printing management preferred
