We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Engineering Manager to oversee our production and assembly operations.
Job Summary:The Production Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the production and assembly teams, ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing of our filling and packaging machinery. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will optimize production processes, manage resources effectively, and foster a culture of safety and quality within the manufacturing unit.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in production engineering within the industrial machinery, special purpose machinery, or liquid filling & packaging machinery manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, leading a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and quality control systems.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:I. Managerial & Leadership:
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production engineers and assembly technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Allocate tasks and manage workload to ensure optimal productivity.
- Production Planning & Execution:
- Oversee daily production schedules and ensure timely completion of manufacturing targets.
- Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement, design, and sales teams to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.
- Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement in assembly, fitting, and overall production operations.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
- Lead initiatives for process standardization and documentation.
- Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality control standards throughout the production process.
- Oversee final inspection and testing of machinery to ensure adherence to design specifications and customer requirements.
- Address and resolve quality issues, implementing root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Resource Management:
- Optimize the utilization of machinery, equipment, and human resources.
- Manage shop floor inventory and ensure efficient material flow.
- Contribute to budgeting and resource planning for the production department.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and industrial regulations within the production area.
- Promote a safe working environment and conduct regular safety audits.
II. Technical & Operational:
- Machinery Installation & Commissioning Oversight:
- Oversee and provide expert guidance on the installation, commissioning, and on-site training of machinery at client locations.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex installation challenges.
- Hands-on Assembly & Fitting Expertise:
- Maintain a strong understanding of bench fitting & assembly fitting processes and provide hands-on support/guidance when necessary.
- Ensure high standards of precision and quality in all assembly operations.
- Technical Documentation & Feedback:
- Proficiently read and interpret complex 2D engineering drawings.
- Oversee the process of making corrections in drawings and providing comprehensive feedback to the design team for continuous product improvement.
- Tooling & Manufacturing Processes:
- Expert knowledge of various manufacturing processes including marking, drilling, tapping, grinding, and cutting.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet production deadlines.
- Must be staying near Asangaon, Thane, or on the central line. If not, must be willing to stay at company-provided accommodation in Vasind, Thane.
- A strong work ethic, sincerity, and dedication to achieving departmental and company goals.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Interview Process:
- Candidates will undergo a comprehensive assessment, including:
- In-depth technical questions on machinery components, materials, measurements, and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Discussions on previous managerial experiences, leadership style, and problem-solving approaches in a production environment.
