To ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implement industry best practices, and proactively manage risks associated with gas Manufacturing , processing, test Bench, Maintenance /Shutdown activities. The Safety Engineer will play a key role in ensuring a safe working environment and supporting continuous improvement of the safety management system.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Safety

  • Conduct safety inspections and audits of gas facilities (pipelines, compressors, plants, Storage Tank etc.)
  • Identify, assess, and control hazards related to gas leaks, high-pressure systems, flammable materials, and confined spaces
  • Support implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and toolbox talks
  • Monitor hot work, confined space entry, and lifting operations
  • Lead and participate in incident/near-miss investigations using root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5-Whys, fishbone diagram)
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Maintain records and reporting systems (e.g., IMS, incident logs, audit findings)

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with national and international safety laws and standards (e, PESO, OSHA, ISO ,14001, 45001)
  • Assist in preparation of safety plans, risk assessments, and HAZOP/HAZID /HIRA studies
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and emergency response protocols

Training & Culture

  • Conduct safety inductions, refresher training, and drills (fire, gas leak, evacuation)
  • Promote behavioral safety and safety leadership among operations staff
  • Contribute to safety campaigns, awareness sessions, and audits

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Analyse leading and lagging indicators (TRIR, LTIFR, near-miss rate)
  • Report safety KPIs to management and regulatory authorities
  • Recommend engineering controls or administrative procedures for risk reduction
