Production Equipment/Lab Technician

Primary responsibility of this position will be to perform all aspects of a spray dryer operation and perform all associated tasks to ensure the equipment performs at optimum production levels within the established quality specifications. In addition, this person will be responsible for assisting in product formulations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Prepare all ingredients required to run the spray dryer and continuously monitor the performance of the equipment to include:

· Precise measurement of ingredients

· Monitoring particle size of suspended solids

· Measuring moisture content of materials

· Measure dry particle powder size

Use test/analytical equipment to include but not limited to CEM Moisture Analyzer, Malvern DLS.

Make the necessary corrections to the testing and evaluation results ensuring the daily process flow remains within the established standards.

Ensure all equipment is maintained and working properly at peak efficiency.

Assist with product formulations (including new product development) as determined by other staff members.

Interface with customers in a professional manner during on-site customer visits.

Work with minimal supervision to complete the production runs and other tasks assigned.

Understand the critical necessity of proper equipment sanitation when doing all aspects of the job including preparation, operations and clean-up.

Monitor workplace safety environment to identify and address any unsafe conditions.

Safely handle chemicals using appropriate PPE as part of the production process.

Make suggestions for the continuous improvement of processes in area of responsibility.

Work in an environmentally controlled production setting.

Ability to do regular bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 pounds) with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.

Capable of following directives both written and verbal without alteration unless receiving prior endorsement from a supervisor/manager.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D.

Manufacturing/Laboratory experience utilizing laboratory/analytical equipment.

Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.

Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues.

Ability to make independent, effective decisions to accomplish daily tasks.

Ability to solve problems and analyze line operations with minimal guidance.

Flexibility to work different/multiple shifts within reason

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.50 - $35.00 per hour
