Production Lead

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific production line or shift. You will ensure that production targets are met on time, while maintaining strict adherence to safety (OSHA), quality (SQF/BRC), and sanitation standards. This is a working lead role, meaning you are expected to be on the floor, troubleshooting equipment, and coaching staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Coordination: Direct the daily activities of the production team to ensure the schedule is met. Shift assignments, rotation, and break management fall under your watch.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety: Ensure all products meet specifications. You are the first line of defense for Food Safety (HACCP) and must ensure the team follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Efficiency Tracking: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, yield, and labor hours. Identify bottlenecks and suggest process improvements.
  • Equipment Oversight: Perform basic troubleshooting on machinery (e.g., fillers, conveyors, or packaging scales) and coordinate with Maintenance for complex repairs.
  • Training & Coaching: Onboard new hires on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and provide ongoing feedback to improve team performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, including production reports, waste logs, and safety checklists.

Experience: 4-7 years in food manufacturing; pprocessing food industry (prefer)
