SUMMARY:
The Production Manager oversees material procurement, vendor coordination, and production readiness for all approved restoration, remediation, and reconstruction projects. This role ensures accurate and timely material orders, quality assurance, and alignment of schedules among project managers, branch operations, and field teams. The Production Manager serves as the central point of contact for material control, vendor relations, and workflow efficiency within Rapid Response Team’s PSA system.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review newly approved projects in PSA, verifying scope accuracy against estimates.
- Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Manager to outline materials needed for proposals and establish associated material orders.
- Coordinate with building supply vendors to obtain material take-offs, taper systems, and related resources.
- Place material orders via approved vendor portals or internal procurement workflows.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing, rebates, and extended payment terms.
- Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and on-site logistics with Branch Managers and Project Managers.
- Track and reconcile material spend versus estimates, including returns and variance reporting.
- Manage the Production Schedule dashboard within PSA Work Orders and Calendar for all active projects.
- Perform field checks to confirm material accuracy, delivery timing, and installation quality.
- Standardize material usage across branches, including encapsulants, drywall, flooring, paint, sealants, siding, and roofing supplies, while leveraging vendor relationships to optimize warranties.
- Create and maintain a master materials list, approved vendor list, and internal SKU catalog; collaborate with the Asset Manager on warehouse inventory levels and product mix.
- Report weekly to the Director of Operations on procurement KPIs and margin impact.
PREFFERED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in construction, restoration, or production management.
- Knowledge of remediation materials, encapsulation methods, and reconstruction processes; ability to travel as needed.
- Familiarity with vendor portals, purchase order systems, and ERP/PSA platforms.
- Strong understanding of building materials, including drywall, mudding, texturing, siding, roofing, windows, flooring, and paint.
- Proficiency in PSA, Xactimate, T&M, SharePoint, Material Take-Offs, Slope Systems, Blueprints, and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset; basic math skills and construction material quantity calculations required.
- Experience in project management and budgeting, with a history of managing subcontractor relationships and accountability.
- Materials ordered within 48 hours of project approval (Target 90%).
- Average material variance is 5% of estimate.
- Vendor rebate and credit capture rate 80% of eligible rebates.
- Delivery accuracy and site readiness 95%.
- Margin improvement is attributed to direct material control (Tracked quarterly).
- Zero critical material shortages impacting production schedules.
