The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing resources and workforce planning, maintaining equipment efficiency, and ensuring that output meets quality and delivery targets. The individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline systems, reduce waste, and uphold safety and compliance standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting organizational goals around operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and direct production operations to meet output, efficiency, quality, and cost objectives.

Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with customer demand and inventory needs.

Manage production teams, allocate tasks, supervise performance, and provide coaching to enhance skill levels and productivity.

Implement and control production workflows, processes, machinery utilization, and resource planning to optimize performance.

Monitor production metrics—downtime, yield, scrap rates, turnaround time—and initiate improvement measures.

Collaborate closely with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth coordination across operations.

Drive continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or Six Sigma principles to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental policies; maintain a strong culture of workplace safety.

Troubleshoot operational challenges, execute root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure timely availability of required materials, tools, and equipment while maintaining effective inventory control.

Prepare and present production reports, KPI dashboards, performance updates, and improvement plans to senior leadership.

Lead capacity planning, forecasting, and resource optimization aligned with business growth.

Evaluate equipment performance and collaborate with maintenance to schedule preventive and corrective servicing.

Support new product introduction and production line transitions by coordinating resources and execution plans.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

10-15 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing or engineering production environment.

Strong expertise in production planning, resource allocation, process improvement, and quality assurance.

Proven leadership experience managing large production teams and fostering a culture of accountability and performance.

Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Hands-on experience working with ERP / MES systems and production data dashboards.

Ability to analyze operational problems, think strategically, and implement effective solutions.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with cross-departmental collaboration capabilities.

Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic production environment
