About the role
The Production Manager will be responsible for leading Site Production Operations to achieve production targets and KPIs, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
The role focuses on excellence and effectiveness across all aspects of production operations including team development, talent management, budgetary control and the application of best in class processes
The Production Operations function primarily synchronizes with Safety Management, Engineering & Maintenance, Food Safety & Quality, RDA and Operations Finance to ensure seamless alignment enabling Safe, Quality and on time service to our customers.
The Site Production Manager will be part of the Site Leadership Team - managing change, instilling standards, planning and leading site strategy in conjunction with all other site functions.
Key responsibilities
Leadership
  • In conjunction with the other members of the Site Leadership Team contribute to the development of site strategy, execution and management of change.
  • As a Senior Leader, lead by example, instilling our values and standards in others at all levels across the site.
  • Sound Decision making is a critical part of the role ensuring clarity and accuracy of information that is necessary to share with internal and external stakeholders.

Team Development
  • Recruit, mentor and manage Production Team Members, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Develop the Maintenance Team by creating a talent pool of motivated experts in their field.
  • Employ an appropriately designed skills matrix to develop effective training and assessment plans for all team members that ensures that we have the necessary flexibility to operate efficiently across all process and filling lines in any combination in order to be able to respond to varying customer needs.

Functional Expertise
  • Ensure that all relevant production targets and KPI’s across Safety, Quality, Operational Costs and Customer Service are achieved, ensuring that robust countermeasure plans are developed where there are variances.
  • The role is pivotal to the deployment of and adherence to Personnel Safety and Food Quality standards throughout the hierarchy of Operations.
  • Coordinate production activities with the Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain and Warehouse departments to achieve sustained and improved efficiencies ensuring OTIF service to our customers.
  • Effective and efficient production planning including resource allocation is a key part of the role to maximise efficiencies and achieve scorecard KPIS ensuring quality on time service to our customers
  • Ensure the optimal use of relevant ERP in production execution including reviewing production data, and reporting information and variances to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure that there is a fit for purpose training and development plan in place for the Production Operations team.
  • Build a high performing motivated team through the hierarchy of Production Operations ensuring effective appraisal, succession planning and performance management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency and productivity employing tools such as lean/six sigma, methodology RCA and visual management tools to optimise operational efficiency and eliminate waste. (Maintain alignment to 1 Kerry Systems that already exist)
  • Ensure that all data processing is undertaken in a timely manner and is up to date and accurate
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures across all shift patterns.
  • Establish and encourage a strong teamwork culture within the department.
  • Be able to inform the development of production budgets and product costings with accuracy.
  • As necessary be able to play a role in capital project initiation, costing and delivery.
  • Develop a library of SOPs that are necessary for training, refreshing and adhering to specific equipment operating procedures.
  • Collaborate and align production operations activities closely with EHS, FSQ, Maintenance, Planning, Operational Finance and RDA playing a key role in commercialization and development activities.
Qualifications and skills
  • Minimum Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline from a recognised university
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience in a leadership capacity in a chemical process or food manufacturing industry
  • Experience in all aspects of Team Management, Recruitment, Appraisal, Goal Setting, Performance Mangagment, Team Building
  • Must have Cost Management experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Effective delegation skills holding others accountable for timebound actions.
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP and safety standards
  • MS Office and work systems experience essential
  • Possess working experience in quality and food safety systems BRC, OHSAS14001….
  • Background in the use of SAP in production execution is an advantage.
  • Experience in Risk Management and mitigation
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and launches
  • Languages – Arabic / English
