Production Manager - Furniture Manufacturing

This position is based in Sudan, and we are seeking a candidate who is willing to relocate to Sudan.

Job Description

An established furniture manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead its furniture manufacturing operations in Sudan. This role involves overseeing the entire production process for wooden and steel furniture, ensuring smooth workflows, consistent product quality, and adherence to budget constraints. The ideal candidate possesses at least seven years of relevant experience in production planning, lean manufacturing, quality control, and process optimization. This position demands strong leadership abilities, as it requires managing a team of 20 production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the production floor. The Production Manager plays a critical role in optimizing resource allocation, reducing waste, and enhancing operational efficiency by utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The role also includes hands-on involvement in budgeting and cost control to maximize profitability. Candidates must effectively coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials and support. Safety compliance and innovation adoption are also essential responsibilities, contributing to the overall success and growth of the manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and supervise all production activities, ensuring smooth workflow and strict adherence to production schedules.
• Lead and manage a team of 20 production personnel by providing guidance, training, and motivation to meet or exceed performance targets.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production processes continuously.
• Monitor and maintain quality control standards to ensure all furniture products meet or exceed company and customer specifications.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process and recommend corrective actions to improve overall plant performance.
• Manage inventory levels and control material flow leveraging Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for timely and cost-effective supply chain management.
• Develop, oversee, and adhere to production budgets while applying cost control measures to maximize profitability without compromising quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production metrics, setting measurable goals, and implementing industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, maintenance, and other departments to ensure availability of materials, equipment, and maintenance support necessary for uninterrupted production.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, promoting a safe and healthy working environment across the production facility.
• Prepare and present regular detailed reports on production performance, team outcomes, and improvement projects to senior management.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive practices to integrate innovations that enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.
