Production Operations Specialist

The Production Operations Specialist is responsible for the day‑to‑day health, monitoring, and stability of production systems within a third‑party insurance IT services environment. This role focuses on operational execution, incident management, and first‑line stakeholder communication to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and timely resolution of production issues.

This position includes shared team responsibilities such as supporting client onboarding, plan changes, and terminations, along with troubleshooting application issues, file transfers, FTP/SFTP processes, and support tickets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems, file runs, and scheduled jobs for failures or delays
  • Create, track, and manage incident tickets related to nightly and intraday production issues
  • Level 1 troubleshooting of all incidents
  • Communicate system status, incidents, and resolutions to management and stakeholders
  • Execute daily workorders and recurring operational tasks
  • Monitor department inboxes and communication channels for incoming production requests
  • Respond to inquiries from internal teams and external partners
  • Monitor and resolve production issues and file resends using the ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot issues across automation, FTP/SFTP, files, and databases
  • Import, export, validate, and troubleshoot data files (CSV, XML, Excel, JSON, TXT, ANSI X12: 837, 834, 835, 278, 999)
  • Support client lifecycle activities including onboarding, plan changes, and terminations
  • Maintain documentation in Confluence and ticketing systems
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners (clients, vendors, brokers, banks)
  • Participate in testing and implementation of system and process changes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
  • Support special projects as assigned

Skills Required

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience with programming fundamentals
  • 2+ years of experience in service delivery, IT operations, or a related technical role
  • Experience with vendor integrations, EDI, file‑based data exchanges, and SFTP
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL concepts
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Automate or similar platforms)
  • Understanding of programming fundamentals, including variables, conditional logic, and loops
  • Familiarity with ticket‑based workflow systems such as Jira and Confluence
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, and work independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Passion for continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to reduce issues and improve processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Teams, Outlook, FTP tools (e.g., FileZilla), SQL Server Management Studio, and text editors

Benefits and Compensation

  • The range for this role is $57,000-$63,000 annually based on prior experience
